What should I pack?

We expect you to come with the following essential equipment:

  • 45L or more backpack
  • Hiking boots or sport shoes
  • Convenient, waterproof clothing
  • Flashlight with spare batteries
  • Raincoat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunblock and lip balm
  • Cutlery, cup, and plate
  • Personal snacks
  • Personal medications
All other essential equipment what you will need you can bring with you or rent out at our camp: Sleeping bag Sleeping mat For more comfort, we would recommend you to have: extra socks, a pair of slippers to rest your feet, sports clothes that are synthetic and light (no cotton), sitting pad, gloves, bandana or scarf, blister treatment. Sandals or light shoes for rivers crossing. Keep in mind that also you will carry part of group food or some cooking equipment. But your backpack would not be heavier than 10-12 kg.

What's the climate like?

The chance that it will rain is 30%, so a raincoat is important but during the day can be quite hot around +20 / 30 degrees. Lowest temperature can get is about 0 / +5 degrees by night. We will stay at nights indoors, but please keep in mind that weather in the mountains is unpredictable, so please check equipment list and come adequately prepared.

What type of accommodation will I get?

We will be staying at family-owned 2-floor guesthouse, with a small cozy yard, and wine cellar where you can try homemade wine. Housewife will take care of our meals and suggest great variety of traditional delicious Georgian cuisine. During 3-day trekking we will stay in mountain shelters for 2 nights. The shelter is simple, has beds, table, dry toilet but no shower. We will share a room with one or a few participants of the tour.

Do I need a sleeping bag?

Yes, you will need a sleeping bag for 2 nights in shelters. You can bring with you or rent out at our camp.

What's included in the cost of the trip?

Our trip price includes:

  • Transfers to and from Tbilisi Airport.
  • Meals on the trails and in camp + wine degustation.
  • Accommodation in camp and mountain shelters on the trail.
  • Help in equipment planning and gear rent.
  • Local guides.
  • Grill party.
  • Registration for Russian border passing.
  • Horses with full equipment and guides.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend you to get special travel Insurance with stipulations of mountain rescue coverage as well as any medical and/or related costs such as helicopter off the track, hospital care and so on.

Does the tour include international airfare?

Travelers arrive from various countries to our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices.

How many people can join a tour?

We prefer to keep our groups rather small, usually between 6-10.

What are the age restrictions on your tour?

To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits as long as you feel fit enough. Children from age 14 are allowed to hike when accompanied by parent or guardian.

Are airport transfers included?

No, but for extra cost we transfer from and to Tbilisi airport. The cost might vary in the range of EUR 15-50 according to the number of passengers.

What type of ground transportation is used on your tours?

Minivans or cars depends on number of participants, but the most important is that our tours are created in a way that you'll spend the least time on the road. Mainly we will hike, a lot, and ride horses.

Who are my travelling companions?

Our groups consist of travelers from various locations and backgrounds but who all share an adventurous spirit. We have lone travelers as well as friends, couples and family in different ages that could vary in the range of 15-55.

How do I pay and what payment methods do you accept?

Once you fill out registration form or send it directly to us via email, we will send you an invoice. You are required to pay Eur 200 deposit in order to secure your booking. We accept payment through PayPal. This method accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club. PayPal is an easy, secure way to buy online that doesn’t require your financial information. All you need to do is register with an email and password, and you are ready to make your purchase. Best of all, every transaction is covered by PayPal’s Buyer Protection so that you are protected in the unlikely event something goes wrong. The rest of the amount will be paid when we meet at the beginning of the tour with cash.

How fit do I have to be?

Our tours are built in a way that you do not need previous hiking experience, though you do need to be reasonably fit and enthusiastic. As the demands of hiking in the mountains require more energy and strength. If you have any doubts about the level of fitness or questions regarding tour difficulty, reach us anytime!

How safe is it?

Our trails are located in a well-maintained Lagodekhi national park. We register there in advance and are guided on the marked routes. In fact in a park along with rangers there are Georgian, Azerbaijan and Russian border guards making the area highly safe. Trails itself are medium hard, sometimes rocky, sometimes steep, crossing over rivers, all included but undoubtedly amazing and all worth it. There is no need for special equipment and we will adjust pace for group needs, though know your limits and how fit you are.

What about the food?

You will enjoy delicious Georgian cuisine in our guesthouse and local restaurants. During the 3-day trekking, we will cook on stoves together and each of us will carry part of the group food. Menu consists of dried fruits, dried meat, cheese, porridges, as well as instant meals. Any personal snacks like chocolate bars or nuts should be taken individually. We will cook meals together, 1 stove per 3 people. We will eat 3 times a day: breakfast, short lunch on the trail and a dinner once we get to the shelter. Vegetarian and special diets are welcomed, just let us know well in advance. Only on city tour you will enjoy some free time and go to any restaurants upon your wish that will have to cover yourself.

How much free time do I get on tour?

On the last day of our program you'll visit an old city Sighnagi, where after the guided excursion you'll have several hours of free time to walk around and get familiar to city culture. At the evening we'll take you back to the guesthouse where we'll have a goodbye grill party.
