Tusheti National Park is a huge National reserve on the East Caucasus Mountains. It is located in the structural basin of Tusheti, Akhmeta Municipality, Kakheti Region, about 900 - 4800 meters above the sea level, and its area is 83007 hectares!
Historically, it was founded in 2003. Totally, Tusheti National Park preserves alpine meadows, glaciers, summits, river sources, rare and endangered species of animals and endemic relict plants. Also, there is an unique pine forest and forest-forming species - birch, highland oak, apricot and salix caprea, which is amazing for nature caring.
Tusheti is distinguished also by his beautiful summits, such as Tebulo (4492 m), Diklo (4285 m) and Borbalo (3294 m), which are very popular between tourists and all the types of travelers. You get fantastic panoramic views when reaching the top of the mountain!
Tusheti State Reserve and National Park areas are managed by the Tusheti Protected Areas Administration, which is located in Akhmeta Municipality, the village of Kvemo Alvani, and also the Summer Administration is located in Tusheti, Omalo village. An administrative building or visitor center, which takes care of all protected areas and also integrates hotel rooms for visitors, has interpretive and information boards.
